Skills

Although I never finished a bachelors degree, I believe that I have more than enough job experience to make up for that deficiency. I currently own and run two businesses. I have managed other businesses in the local area. I was on Desertview Federal Credit Union's board of directors for over twenty years, and chairman of that board for over fifteen years, and saw the credit union grow from a million dollar institution with 70% percent delinquency rate to a thirty million dollar institution that is an asset to our community.

I have served on Emery County's Economic Development Council for over eight years and have also served on Emery County's Planning and Zoning Commission for the past eight years. I have a heads up as to what this job may detail I currently serve on the Utah State Fair Board, appointed by Governor Huntsman and reappointed by Governor Herbert, for the past six years. Through this appointment, I understand better the workings of our state government.

I am an assistant football coach at Emery High School currently and I write about sports for the Emery Progress. I can handle all the communications necessary for this job and I can handle any and all situations that may arise and will do so in a professional manner. I look for a way to say yes rather than a way to say no. I try to solve things diplomatically.

As the City zoning administrator, I enforce all existing zoning ordinances and assist the zoning commission in their duties. I assist the city council in their duties by being a resource for them. I assist all applicants for building permits get their paperwork in order before submitting to the building inspector. I handle other duties as requested.
