    Starter as two positions due to my ability of being multilingual, one of them was being the desk clerk and the other being the accounting auxiliary due to being certified by my high school on Mexico of having knowledge enough to help in the accounting area.My responsibilities as a desk clerk were:
  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotels.
  • Verify customers' credit, and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation.
  • Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems.

  • Issue room keys and escort instructions to bellhops.
  • Make and confirm reservations.
  • Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or using computers.
  • Post charges, such those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers manually or by using computers.
  • Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  • Collect money for drinks served.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Balance cash receipts.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
  • Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
  • Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
  • Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
  • Order or requisition liquors and supplies.

I was also the restaurants cashier, it was a very interesting position too, because i wasn't only the cashier but I also had to pick the orders from all the rooms by the phone and place them into the system.

    First started as a buss boy since i didn't have any experience on the food field, supervise the tables and make sure their tables were clear, after 2 months i was promoted to a food runner due to  good development at my area, having to:

  • Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct recipients and that guidelines, such as those for special diets, are followed.

After 6 more months they gave me the freedom to choose my position and be able to switch it multiple tomes a weak, so i decided to not just be a food runner but a hosts, because i really like working with the customers face to face and put a smile on their face since the moment they walk in.
