  • Prepare metal surfaces or workpieces (boiler tubes and water walls) using hand-operated equipment, such as grinders, cutters, or drill and using pneumatic air tools.
  • Align tubes or water wall tubes for welds. Correct misaligned tubes if needed. QC has final word on weld out.
  • Complete weld out on tubes....GTAW on root, hot pass, fillet and cap. Also on some tubes SMAW on fillet passes and cap.
  • Rigging on boiler tubes and water walls.
  • Weld on water wall membranes and mega lugs.
  • GMAW(dual sheild 70, 72 and 80 series wire) on outer "skin" of the boiler.
  • Mark weld points and positions of components on workpieces, using rules, squares, templates, or scribes.
