Summer Nanny

Working as a summer nanny is very similar to Sarah's other nanny job she does on the side for her neighbors. However, Sarah works many more hours then she did before, which requires a lot more responsiblity in dealing with behavior problems and not being afraid to discipline the child. Spending ten hours a day together means Sarah must have patience and stay very organized so that there's always an activity to do.

Working as a nanny throughout high school was extremely fun because of my love for children, but also very difficult. Sarah has to be extremely organized because keeping young children busy and active is important in their development, therefore, she planned activities that were age- appropriate. Sarah was responsible for communicating on a timely manner with the parents to ensure you are available to work. Time management is very important important because Sarah had to transport the children to their specific acitivities on time.
Barista
Oct 2013-May 2014
Beakers Coffee Shop
St. Paul,
MN
Baristas are the foundation of the café because you must be responsible for honoring each and every customer by providing excellent customer service and a high quality product. Sarah displayed a positive attitude at all times to ensure the return of our customers who are the reason for our business.
Hostess
May 2011-Jul 2012
Bakers Square
Brookfield,
WI
Working at Bakers Square resturant allowed Sarah to improve her time management, customer service, communication, and organizational skills. For example, Sarah maintained contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed. Decision making skills was another important skill obtained by being a hostess because during a rush, you must put the customers first and be ready to help anywhere that's needed.
