  • Handle lines to moor vessels to wharfs, to tie up vessels to other vessels, or to rig lines.
  • Load or unload materials, bait and lobster from vessel and dock.
  • Remove lobster and catch from traps, measure lobsters for compliance withlegal size requirements, banded claws to prepare them to sell. 
  • Attach hoses and operate pumps to transfer salt water supply to and from lobster tanks.
  • Sweep, mop, and wash down decks to remove oil, dirt, and debris, using brooms, mops, brushes, and hoses.
  • Break out, rig, and stow  gear, stationary rigging, or running gear.
  • Maintain and repair traps, bouys and rigging 
  • Assist Captain with navigational instruments and vessel positioning as needed

  • Steer own vessel and operate without navigational instruments.
