I am currently teaching as a Special Education Teacher in District 22 in an integrated first grade class setting. As the special education teacher I confer with my co-teacher to plan and schedule lessons and devise plans that promote students educational needs based on their individual IEPs. Concurrently, I work with eight students in a small group as a SETTS teacher for two periods daily in the third grade, where I instruct special needs students using multisensory techniques, and repetition to reinforce learning and meet students varying needs. Over the last ten years, I taught across all grades in elementary school as a collaborative teacher, setts teacher and as a self contained teacher. I am also trained in Wilson and have trained students using phonetics. As a professional, I continuously attend educational professional development training with Teachers College.

As a service coordination, it was my duty to plan programs and services for special education services for children between 0 and 3 years of age. I attended IFSP meetings and coordinated the services, making sure therapists, parents and childrens needs were met.
