Synchronize and supplement prerecorded Sound Effects (FX),
Foley and Backgrounds with the visual action of motion pictures, using a Macintosh
based sound editing system named Protools. When needed, use field
recording sound equipment to supplement library FX with specific sound effect
elements. Prep edited material for mixing stages and edit needed changes
while film is being mixed. Coordinate with Picture Editor as to what
specific sound FX needs and wishes are expected.

Started in this position 01/1992 and became an Editors Guild member in
coordinating information and workflow between Picture Editorial and the Sound
Editorial Departments. Prep and
maintain material for between 3 and 8 Sound Editors. Work in tandem with the
show Supervising Sound Editor to schedule stage time, recording sessions,
Editor work loads, hiring needs and any specific need of the Sound Editors or
Picture Editor. Responsible
for secure delivering all edited material to Mixing, ADR, or Foley stages. This is accomplished by use of External
hard drives, server uploads, or Internet delivery systems. Plan in advance a variety of
schedules and constant deadlines. Responsible to make sure Editors are working efficiently and will meet
upcoming deadlines. Must
coordinate with facility schedulers/managers, stage Mixers and Engineers, and
show Post Production coordinators.
The Sound Editorial System used, industry wide, is
Protools. This is a Macintosh
based editing system and have over 15 years experience operating. Also have extensive knowledge of Microsoft
Word and Excel. Have also used a
variety of Macintosh programs including: Calendar programs, Cue Sheet programs,
file renaming programs, and video processing/manipulation programs, and a variety
of Protools plug-ins (sound manipulation).
Studio/Field Camera Operator, Master Control Operator

As a Studio cameraperson was responsible for operating one
of the live cameras for the 11:00 newscast. Worked as a weekend field camera person/reporter. News Director would send me out to
record stories in the area alone and with a field reporter. Would shoot and edited these stories
under the direction of a News Writer/Anchor person. Master Control operator was responsible for running local
programming and commercials. Keeping
detailed programming and commercial logs for FCC and billing purposes. Timing local Newscasts to join national
programming at correct time.
