Responsible for meeting minutes. Assists with planning fund raising events, such as conferences, cruises, and luncheons. Prepares the spreadsheet in Excel for the monthly budget report. Speaks with members about benefits and union representation with employers. Coordinates events with our partner company, Project 150, to give out and raise money for scholarships. Confers with board members for planning of upcoming events to raise funds for scholarships, officer families in need, and training of officers in the community.

Responsible for ensuring all standards of American Correctional Association were met, completed two audits with progressively higher scores. Auditing files, reporting directly to the Chief of Detention. Writing policies and procedures. Writing emergency plans and coordinating with the fire department and other facilities to ensure safety in the event of a major disaster in the community. Getting information from legal department and making sure that plans and policies met legal requirements to the best and most current legal practices. Assisted with accreditation for the City of Las Vegas Jail, and assisted other departments with their accreditation. Created power points, classes on line, and lesson plans for new policies, new emergency plans, and new procedures as necessary. Teaching classes on new policies and procedures both at the academy and to officers. Writing Use of Force Policy, responsible for keeping policy current with trends of other departments helping to avoid future law suits. Coordinating with legal department for law suits as needed. Worked with Rape Crisis Center to ensure that the facility met the requirements of the Prison Rape Elimination Act, writing policy and mutual aid agreements as well as suggesting and managing improvements that were required in the facility to meet the standards.
