Banner Health –
Phoenix,
AZ
After giving birth to my second daughter I took a job here at Banner Estrella a level 2EQ NICU. Here I work once a week doing deliveries and advocating for infants as they transition from intrauterine life to extrauterine life. I have been working here for 6 years. I love going on deliveries and helping babies and their mom's in this very special time. I get to use all of my skills taking care of a large population of kids. I have been lucky to get to float in and out of the NICU and into labor and postpartum providing care to all of Women and Infant Services. This schedule has allowed me to be at home raising my own kids and now the flexibility to go back and pursue my dreams of becoming a Women's Health Practioner.

Phoenix Children's Hospital –
Phoenix ,
AZ
My husband and I relocated to Phoenix Arizona and I took a position working night shift at this level 3 NICK. Here I cared for a variety of patients including surgical, post surgical, micro preemies, and infants with multiple anomalies, multiple gestation, and also end of life, and bereavement care. After two years at Phoenix Children's I decided to take a year off work as I had a 14 month old at home and was 4 months pregnant and very sick with hyperemesis.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital –
Cincinnati ,

After a year of experience in Labor and Well baby I was offered a position at CCHMC's Level 3 50 bed Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This was a truly amazing experience caring for acutely ill neonates. I worked in the "D" pod which specialized in any potential ECMO babies. I cared for babies with extensive birth defects requiring surgeries, ventilation, tracheostomies, and ECMO. CCHMC is an academic hospital that was just newly welcoming a new fetal surgeon on staff. I gained many skills in my year at CCHMC including caring for infants and families in end of life care, fetal surgery, and providing pre and post surgical care for very ill preterm babies.

Ft. Hamilton Hughes Memorial Hospital –
Hamilton ,
OH
I started my nursing career at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. As a new graduate I trained at this Level 2 facility. The unit had labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum birth suites. I trained for 3 months in orientation learning labor, delivery, postpartum, and stabilization of neonates. I spent the next 9 months working independently and growing my love for pregnant moms and their new babies. I learned to scrub, circulate, and take care of mother's delivering vaginally or via cesarean section. I gained skills in Fetal Monitoring and caring for laboring mothers. I refined my skills in starting IV's on adults and neonates. I cared for moms throughout their perinatal experience as well as taught them how to care for their newborn. I completed my first S.T.A.B.L.E course and learned how to stabilize sick neonates for transport.
