Objective
RE: Dedicated and Compassionate New Grad
Registered Nurse the UHN team.
Dear Human Resources Professional,

After engaging in pre-consolidation
at UHN on the Medical/Oncology unit, I have become highly interested in
becoming a member of the University Health Network. I found that I meshed very
well with the UHN staff as I am also dedicated to providing quality family and
patient care, I am a team player and excellent at engaging in interprofessional
collaboration. With the skills and
qualifications presented within my resume as well as my flexibility and
adaptability, I believe I would
be of excellent service to the needs of the UHN team and clientele.
My relevant qualifications include my Bachelors of Science
in Nursing and status as a Registered Nurse in Ontario (Registration #
15105306). I have a strong medical/surgical background. The most recent medical
surgical placement being at Princess Margret (2014) unit 17A
Medical/Chemotherapy & Radiation Oncology. In working with clients with
cancer, I have developed
specialized skills caring for clients with cancer and extensive pain.

In addition, I have experience working on a medical
telemetry unit (2013) and a surgical-orthopedic unit
(2012). Together, these work experiences have equipped the ability to identify changes in ECG patterns
and provide appropriate follow-up care, use effective time management and prioritization to manage the
care of 4-6 acute clients with complex needs, and provide excellent patient teaching for clients who
have undergone chemotherapy and surgery (cancer, cardiac and orthopedic
surgery).
I have strong leadership and
mentoring skills which were enhanced by supervising and managing the care
for 160 residents at Extendicare (Long-term care) in 2015.
I uphold strong ethical standards in providing safe and comprehensive care for clients across
the life span continuum.

I also have excellent communication skills in English and
intermediate communication skills in French. I have
used these skills effectively working as a school nurse at Toronto French
School (2014-2015) to provide excellent patient teaching/health promotion
teaching.

I am confident that I would be an excellent match to the
UHN team and it would be a great pleasure to be a part of the team again. I've
attached my resume for reference and
look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your time and
consideration.
Kind Regards,
