Operates the SCADA system and monitors pumping operations. Generate related reports and ensure that system pressures and tank levels are adequate to meet system demand. Monitor wastewater lift stations, respond to after hour emergency situations and
monitor the security of pump sites. Process work orders for field maintenance crews and schedule utility line locates and valve operations and contractors. Collects chlorine residuals at elevated storage tanks, ground storage tanks, and pump stations to ensure safe drinking water. Inspects water utilities sites for authorized entry, vandalism, leaks around tanks, and potential hazards on grounds.
Perform a wide variety of activities in support of water/wastewater utility maintenance activities, which include: setting up utility cuts and water relay projects by blue prints; repairing and installing water and sewer lines; fixing and maintaining fire hydrants; changing out meters; investigating water leaks; testing old water meters; portable fire hydrant meters; and repair sprinkler systems damaged by crews. Operate a variety of light and/or medium construction and maintenance equipment, which may include: dump truck, breakers concrete cutting saws, augers, trenchers, hand or power tools ,and/or other related items. Make sure safe work methods and safety equipment are applied on site. Secures work sites from hazards as needed. Complete a variety of logs, documents, and/or simple reports for management of daily activities.
