Sustainment Manager 11/2010 to 06/2012

  • In 2010 Robins Air Force Base was given citations by OSHA, so top management at Robins decided that they needed to create a new office to do nothing but manage the responses to OSHA, the development of new safety processes and procedure.  The new office members were hand-picked to lead this effort. 
  • Tasked to establish this a new organization on Robins to address the OSHA violation called the Safety and Health (SH) office. 

  • Researched and wrote position descriptions

  • Requested an operating budget from command and was approved.

  • Meticulously managed the 60K office budget

  • Studied and researched safety regulations, practices, and procedures to understand the requirement flows prior to application development

  • Developed application training and trained 1500 supervisors to utilize the new Hazard Reporting Tool (HRT) application

  • Functioned as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for two contracts valued over 600K for contractor to support our Safety and Health process improvements, training and implementation.

  • Designed and published procedural documents (OI's, regulations) for use as standards at Robins AFB and the rest of AFMC

  • Ensured Robins AFB met one of the OSHA Settlement Agreement Requirements, by attaining Georgia Tech trainers for OSHA OTI 501 and 511.  Insuring that local safety personnel were properly certified. 

Chief Of Protocol 06/2009 to 11/2010

  • First Level Supervisor for a staff of six employees

  • "Hand - Selected" by the Chief of Staff to take this unfamiliar; but challenging position as the Chief of Protocol for the WR-ALC/CC

  • Provided daily expert guidance and advice to commanders and their staffs on all facets of protocol support

  • Confer with WR-ALC/CC, staff, installation commander, wings and base organizations to assess protocol requirements and establishes priorities

  • Tenaciously submitted employees for recognition, successful on three occasions, quarterly awards and group award

  • Supporting a tremendous number of events and visits, with minimal notice requires refined project management skills and flexibility

  • Responsible for managing the Warner Robins Air Logistics Command, Commanders, Official Representation Funds (ORF) budget.  Ensuring expenses funded by ORF are closely monitored against budget projections to ensure successful program execution within the allotted budget. 

  • Innovative, planned and orchestrated the “first” of a kind events hosted at Robins (i.e., Commander Spring Open house, GO/SES summit), these events received accolades from AFRC/CC, WR-ALC/CC and MXW/CC.

  • Led the IT Depot to be recognized as the model for Robins Air Force Base and other AFMC bases standardizing and centralizing computer equipment receipt, configuration and deployment
  • Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

  • Managed a very diverse staff of 28 employees consisting of civilians, contractors and military

  • Managed five integrated divisions, Receiving, Imaging, Configuration, Installation, Delivery and Turn-in, completing a full cycle “cradle to grave” computer installs and disposal

  • Managed the warehouse storage and distribution of thousands of pieces of ADPE equipment

  • Accountable for an inventory worth over $90 million dollars of new equipment and the return and disposal of obsolete materials on Robins Air Force Base

  • Designed and instituted processes to insure computers were timely and efficiently refreshed and deployment according to regulations

  • First in our Wing to host a week long 6S event, removing 35 tons of no longer needed computer and network equipment, shelving and cables

  • Spear-heading Safe-Site and VPP Gold Star Site.  Devised fun group challenges and games to encourage employees to embrace the safety and health culture

  • Intensely involved in the base deployment planning and implementation of the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) and Vista Operating System

  • Cultivated a professional posture as liaison to other organizations, HQ counterparts, manufacturers and professional organizations

  • Designed and executed tours and briefings for other AFMC bases, schools and industry interested in our operation and wanting to glean lessons learned

  • Collaboratively worked a self-help project with employees to create our facility into a show place

  • Re-engineered the design of the parking lot to allow for our greatly needed more parking slots and enhance visibility for customers and employees

  • Managed a fleet of seven golf carts, one large panel truck, and two forklifts.  All requiring maintenance scheduling, inspections and proper training and operation monitoring
