Provide instruction in the Automotive Technician and Automotive Technology programs including but not limited to courses teaching the eight ASE(Automotive Service Excellence) Automotive accreditation areas: engine repair, automatic transmission and transaxle, manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/ electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance. Plan, develop and implement appropriate instructional and alternative delivery strategies, including but not limited to, Interactive Television and on-line course delivery. Instruct students in classes and participate in college activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor. Advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters. Evaluate student performance in courses taught by the instructor. Actively work with other personnel in student recruitment, retention and job placement. Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc. Assist students in developing work experience assignments such as internships, work study assignments, team projects, etc. Maintain certification as an instructor with the Wisconsin Technical College System. Maintain ASE Certification. Comply with all aspects of Board policies and work rules. Attend division, department and advisory committee meetings. Develop strategies aimed at the retention of minority/female students. Participate in appropriate staff development activities such as diversity awareness, technology training, and Teaching strategies, etc. Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision and values. Maintain Lab area including tools and equipment (hoists, presses, Dynamometers, power tools, hand tools, air tools, tool boxes, tool boards, pumps, parts washers, grinders and grinding equipment, storage containers, drain containers, Drill press, and specialty tools and equipment). Maintain and repair school vehicles and Transmissions. Responsible for managing student live vehicle work repair projects for 20 students in a 10 bay automotive designed laboratory, maintaining student work schedules, assisting in ordering parts, assist in repairing vehicle, communicating with customers, and delivering vehicles after completion.
Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender and disability. Knowledge of personal and equipment safety. Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery. Skill in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods. Skill in communications and human relations with populations having diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds, as well as individuals with disabilities. Skill in oral and written communications. Ability to interact with business and industry to establish partnerships. Ability to use the computer as a management, instructional and diagnostic tool. Ability to establish and maintain strong linkages to community, industry, dealer and independent businesses. Ability to work in a team environment.

Repair Automobile and light trucks to automotive industry standards including warranty repairs. Examples of repairs are: Engine repair/replacement, Transmission repair/ replacement, electrical repair, Heating and air conditioning repair, Brakes and Suspension inspections/repair etc. All aspects of automotive repair are performed. Communicate with customers and other employees related to repairs to vehicles, parts orders etc.
Work with 4 other technicians to repair vehicles in a timely manner and organize daily work. Schedule yearly training using an online schedule system for 4 technicians. Maintain shop equipment such as 7 and 10 ton vehicle hoists, presses, power tools, hand tools, workbenches, and tool box. Maintain safe and clean work area. Maintain material inventory levels.
