To establish a position as a school Secretary or Community Coordinator.  My current position as a parent coordinator has given me the opportunity and skills to be able to transition into either position. I have worked with many school departments so I'm knowledgeable of many practices. I'm a professional whose eager to learn and take on new task that will enhance my professional/ personal growth.

Parent Coordinator 08/2008 to Present

  • Parent liaison between school and parents, organizations, Coordinate PTCs, individual parent meetings; maintain a monthly school calendar, plan school wide events like prom, senior trips, picture day, graduation ceremonies, coordinating workshops for parents.
  • In charge of sending out mass mail/ emails for report card distribution, maintain promotional materials to keep parents engaged and informed. Work with house council to give fundraising support and assistance when required.
  • Collaborate with the PTA for parental engagement practices, district compliance deadlines, recruit parents to sit on the SLT, check student data for enrollment purposes to ensure that student biographical materials are kept updated.  
  • Assist when needed in attendance, collection and scanning of rosters, make absent calls, metro card distribution, work with OPT in regards to student busing issues, create and distribute as requested student verification letters for parents, issued and collected working papers for students.
  • In charge of making sure school accountability reports are done and updated; vision, immunizations, physicals, meal eligibility forms and blue cards.
  • Assist in the main office by greeting visitors/parents, handling their inquiries; keeping a record of student sign out log, connect with ACS as a mandated reporter, make follow up calls to workers, meet and correspond to maximize student academic success.
