Owner and Operator
Mountain Environmental Tree Experts
As the owner and operator of Mountain Environmental Tree Experts for over ten years, I have operated bucket trucks, loaders, stump chippers, brush chippers, tractors, power saws, trucks, sprayers, and other equipment and tools. I supervised my employees and engaged in tree trimming work and trained lower-level employees. I am adept at climbing trees without the use of climbing hooks but can also use hooks and belts, or climb ladders or use a boom truck to gain access to work areas. I know how to clean, sharpen, and lubricate tools and equipment. I know how to appraise trees for certain characteristics, such as twist, rot and heavy limb growth, and gauge amount of direction of lean, in order to determine how to control the direction of a tree's fall with the least damage. I know how to saw back-cuts, leaving sufficient sound wood to control direction of fall. I know how to prune trees, take off limbs and the use of proper tools for pruning. I also can identify or classify species of insects or allied forms such as mites or spiders. I know how to develop improved measurement techniques, soil conservation methods, soil sampling devices or related technology. I can develop new or improved methods or products for controlling or eliminating weeds, crop diseases or insect pests. I have experience in working in nurseries that grow horticultural plants. Additional skills acquired as the owner and operator of a tree company include working with customers to assess their needs, price the work to be done, and make recommendations to customers for improving their trees and plants around their home and landscape areas.

Mills Tree Expert Company
Operated bucket trucks, loaders, stump cutters, brush chippers, tractors, power saws, trucks, sprayers, and other equipment and tools. I can clean, sharpen, lubricate and do minor repairs for tools and equipment. I cut away dead and excess branches from trees, clear branches around power lines, using climbing equipment or buckets of extended truck booms, and/or chainsaws, handsaws, shears, or clippers. I trimmed, topped, and reshaped trees to achieve attractive shapes or removed low-hanging branches. I pruned, cut down, fertilized, and sprayed trees as recommended by tree surgeons. I hoisted tools and equipment to tree trimmers, and lowered branches with ropes or blocks and tackles. I cabled, braced, tied, bolted, stakes and guyed trees and branches to provide support. I sprayed trees to treat diseased or unhealthy trees, including mixing chemicals and calibrating spray equipment. I planned and developed budgets for tree work, and estimated the monetary value of trees. I transplanted and removed trees and shrubs and prepared trees for moving.

Service Master Lawn Care
After training by Service Master, I operated Service Master Lawn Care in Greensboro, NC as my own business, affiliated with the Service Master products, name, etc. I was taught how to mix their pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides for application to trees, shrubs, lawns, or botanical crops. I learned how to fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas. I knew how to cover areas to specified depths with pesticides applying knowledge of weather conditions, droplet sizes, elevation-to-distance ratios, and obstructions. I had to be knowledgeable of starting motors and engaging machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. In my business, Service Master gave training and marketing materials to grow the business and obtain customers.
Mills Tree Experts
The duties and responsibilities which I had with Mills Tree Experts of High Point, NC and with Mills Tree Experts of Atlanta Area/Fayetteville, GA were similar and I worked primarily as a tree climber in both jobs. The owner of the High Point, NC company is John David Mills; the owner of the Atlanta/Fayetteville, GA company is Bryant Mills. Both are my uncles and I have worked for them at various times most of my career. I actually started working for my Uncle John in High Point starting when I was sixteen years old. I helped in the summers and weekends while I was in high school. It is difficult to give specific dates of employment because I was often called from one to the other, depending on what type of work they had which needed my skills. For example, they might call on me when there was an ice storm and they needed my help or they might have gotten a job for a governmental agency and needed extra help to get the work done on schedule.
