I am an owner operator. I handle all aspects of scheduling, performing all lawn maintenance responsibilities, maintenance on equipment, installing plant material when necessary, pruning of shrubbery, installing color. I also have design experience. I can handle irrigation repairs when applicable. Used Takuechi skid steer to construct a retaining wall out of railroad ties. Have used bobcats to move soil and lay sod.

At this job I was give the responsibilities of purchaser, shipping manager, production manager and office management. I purchased at least 95% of the materials to keep the business up and running, everything from chemicals to office supplies to bottles and everything in between. I supervised roughly 12 to 15 people in regards to the full process of manufacturing. Including filling of products, labeling, boxing and ultimately shipping. I was responsible for fixing machinery or having someone else fix it if I couldn't. I was involved in implementing new procedures when needed.

The main responsibility here was maintenance of the grounds around the club house. Pruning, mowing, weed eating, blowing. Other responsibilities included maintenance of equipment, spreading mulch, planting seasonal color. At the end of the time I worked there I learned how to mow greens, place pins and tees. We did reconstruct one hole installing a koi pond on a par three. Have operated Deutz tractors on this job for various tasks.

Primary responsibilities included loading and unloading of trucks, helping customers, and trying to keep the yard clean. Every once in a while I would apply pesticides to the trees with a two cycle back pack sprayer. Some pruning was involved when stock stayed on the yard too long. I operated a new Holland at times on this job. The primary use for it was to load and unload plant material.

Job responsibilities included clean up of debris, aiding in construction of houses, helped install the landscaping around the houses. Drove a Kubota tractor that was used to contour and back fill around the houses. Spent minimal time on a Caterpillar front end loader moving dirt around. Used a whacker packer at times to pack dirt next to the homes. Also learned a little masonary laying rock on a house. Drove a dump truck hauling dirt and debris to various locations.

The course of study involved many aspects of landscaping. Including lawn maintenance practices, plant identification, turf management, nursery production, selling, design and installation, pest identification, and pesticide application, business law, floral design. On all hort classes I was at the top of the class. Was a member of the Gwinnett Tech Honor Society and received an Outstanding Student Award in September 1988.
