Off Shift Nursing Educator, Operating Room Jan 2011Oct 2014 Brigham and Women's Hospital Boston, Ma Coordinates the orientation of evening staff to the different needs and expectations for the varying "off-shifts" within the Operating Room.

Nurse in Charge, GYN and Robotic Services Oct 2008Jan 2011 Brigham and Women's Hospitl Boston, MA Assisted in managing Operating Room patient care crisis regarding "morcellator" machines and their usage.  Over 90% of the market share for this type of product was removed from sale by the FDA.  Changing equipment, contacting sales representatives, collaborating with surgeons was an hourly and daunting task that took the cooperation of multiple ancillary staff and departments.
Helped to organize the relocation of the GYN service from three different "pods" to one "zone".
With the assistance and support of the Associate Chief Nurse of PeriOperative Services, I was finally able to solve the dilemma of beginning the Robotic cases in a timely fashion without mandating a 6AM start time for staff.
Despite variation in staffing levels, added five staff members to the pool of robotically capable staff.
Worked closely with evening staff to increase their expertise in Robotic cases and to increase their familiarity with the closing procedures needed for these cases.
Assisted in saving a large amount of revenue by altering the blue stock bins located within the room cabinets so that the doors could close properly and maintain sterility of those items during procedures and cleaning.
