  • Direct the daily operations of the Unified Communications Department comprised of 5 major hospitals, 50+ clinics, and a 9 member team of technicians. Analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines.

  • Meet with hospital executives, directors, managers, supervisors, outside vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and troubleshoot to resolve problems.
  • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess equipment needs and system requirements.
  • Evaluate the network-wide Telecommunication and AV Technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.
  • Evaluate system upgrade and equipment proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.
  • Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
  • Provide essential information for and assist with the operational budget and expenditures of the department.
  • Purchase necessary equipment, maintaining the confines of the department budget.
  • Recruit, hire, train and supervise technicians. Developstaff through effective coaching and counseling. With EmployeeRelations, apply appropriate and consistent corrective action. Provide technicians with performance and behavior related feedback,both negative and positive. Delegate and review the work of technicians, and completeperformance evaluations.

  • Responsible for thesupervision of the corrective and preventive maintenance programs fortelecommunications equipment and systems, sterilization equipment, medical gas systems, surgical support equipment(tables, lights, power systems, etc.), and specialized water systems.
