My responsibilities include supporting WAN/LAN/WIFI/VoIP infrastructure for Michelin NA. Some of my accomplishments were:

  • Cordinated and led project migrating Michelin's WAN connectivity/support to Orange Business Systems from AT&T support,  This entailed replacement of all site routers and circuits.
  • Designed Network and coordinated migration from Michelin's Avaya PBX system to a Cisco CUCM VoIP system.
  • Single source support for Michelin's Customer Service/Consumer Relations Voice call recording system (NICE) application
  • Coordinated several new site network installations/startups
  • Installed Michelin's first NA Wireless infrastructure using Intermec Autonomous WAPS at Michelin's Performance Test Track
  • Installed Michelin's first WLAN Controller based system with teammate
  • Developed several standards for WLAN and VoIP to be used in NA
  • Started up several remote sites using VPN technology by Nortel and Cisco ASAs

Supported Michelin's North American Network dealing with WAN/LAN and Wireless infrastructure.  Initially network was 3COM Nortel environment, but we migrated it to a Cisco environment.


  • Worked to migrate Michelin to Cisco Routers at all sites from a Nortel family of routers using MPLS architecture
  • Installed Michelin's first wireless infrastructure at their test facility and test track using Intermec WAPs
  • Supported Decserver Asynchrous console/terminal servers
  • Led several new facility network startups from ground breaking to project completion

I was in a Central Engineering group working with all Michelin sites in NA.  My responsibilities started with being the primary electrical/electronic contact for all Michelin sites to address technical issues, obsolescence, and reliability.  Then as Michelin migrated their Engineering more towards the site level from a Centrally controlled hierarchy, I transitioned into more of a machine design/modification environment.  

My Accomplishements included:

  • Addressing numerous obsolescence issues with plants and vendors to find suitable solutions
  • Working with my French counterparts in creating standards for the plants to follow regarding usage of electrical/electronic devices (i.e. Logic Controllers, Drives, Sensors, etc)
  • Heading a project to address Michelin's Electronic Repair needs

I was Manager over a technical shop at the Spartanburg Manufacturing site.  I managed 23 people in our department made up of electrical/electronic/mechanical technicians/engineers.  We were the support team for a portion of Michelin's truck tire production.  My responsibilities included budgeting, work resource planning, HR functions in conjunction with the site's HR team, business plan development, along with insuring equipment reliability and product quality.  My accomplishments were:

  • Reducing operating costs by increasing reliability, efficiency, and improving personnel expertise which reduced overtime requirements
  • Reduced team from 23 persons down to 18, but continued high standards within shop.  This reduction was accomplished through normal attrition and locating high level opportunities elsewhere within the company.
  • Developed yearly Business Plans as a road map for the shop to insure focus was within desired areas

My responsibilities included providing technical expertise regarding electrical/electronic support to site personnel in several maintenance/engineering departments.  I planned work resources and addressed issues with obsolescence, reliability, and quality related to production equipment as well as site infrastructure.
