Neonatal Transport Nurse Apr 2013Jun 2015 Childrens Memorial Hermann Houston, TX Attendance of all high risk deliveries, fetal surgery cases, in-house and external transports via  Helicopter, Medical Leer, and Ambulance ground transport. Complete physical assessment with ability to distinguish normal form abnormal findings. Successfully assess at-risk status,  Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as necessary and appropriate for the care of the patient. Such procedures will include: Administration of medication, establishing IV access peripherally, IO, PICC, UAC/UVC, and PAL.  Proficient in tracheal intubation, laryngeal mask airway insertion, Trocar and Pigtail chest tube insertion, interpretation of blood gases and lab values, maintain, monitor, and evaluate non-invasive diagnostic equipment, determine need for respiratory assistance and oxygen requirements, and ventilator management , and perform and/or assist in CPR, initiate full body cooling and other emergent procedures. Communicate with family including condition of patient, disease information (if possible) expectation with transport, and measures that will be done at Childrens Memorial Hermann, Communication with attending physician during transport, as per protocols, Maintain communication with referral staff, as per protocols.  Complete all documentation required for transport in a timely fashion .Responsible for complete cardiopulmonary care on transported patients and must provide critical care to the patient.
