Build my resume
Every resume structure will be a bit different depending on your resume format. You can choose between three resume formats: the chronological resume format which focuses on your work history, the functional resume which focuses on your skills, and the combination resume which focuses on both. Regardless of the format you choose, you can use these resume sections.
This section of the resume includes basic information about you. Include your full name, phone number, email address and any job networking or portfolio links, including LinkedIn.
This section includes your resume summary or resume objective. It’s a short two or three-sentence paragraph that features your absolute best experience and accomplishments. You will include modeling experience, a well-known fashion designer you worked with or assignments in famous locations. The summary or objective will encompass the most important parts of your resume and because of its placement, recruiters will see it immediately.
The skills section in a model resume may be different from the skills for other jobs and industries. Here are a few skills to consider when writing your model resume:
Whether you’re a model who poses for commercial photo shoots or you walk the runway in the fashion industry, hiring managers want to know you’re qualified for the job you are applying to. List both hard skills and soft skills so you stand out among other model candidates.
This section should list all of your fashion industry experience. This may include working for the New York Fashion Week, local photoshoots or being part of a modeling agency. To make it easier for the hiring manager to see your career progression, list your experience it in reverse chronological order.
In this section, include any relevant modeling training or other academic certifications or degrees. Some aspiring models may have a degree in design, fashion merchandising or photography. You may include your high school diploma if you have no college experience or other training.
