I work in a family practice clinic. The side I work on has 5 doctors and we see about 114 patients a day.

I work 0800hr to 1700hrs Monday thru Friday. I check in patients at the front desk, put there info in the computer and take there payment before they see the doctors. I answer multi line phones, print out patient demo sheets for the next day to pre register them. That means that I go into the computer to look up all their medical information to see if they need to update anything or to scan there insurance cards for the business office.  medication refill and sent phone messages back to the nurse for them to process. I keep track of all the forms that we have to put with the demo sheet for the patient to sign. We use Meditech computer system there with the electronic medical records and patient portal. I assist patients when they have to pick up hard copy scripts. I also get phone message back from the doctors to call and instruct patients on what the doctor wants them to do or make them a work in appointment so they can be seen that day. I reschedule doctors appointments when they take vacation.  I also float to other areas when our doctors are off.

I worked 7p to 7a 3 day a week. This hospital is a very busy place.
