Medical Assistant:
Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records. Triage of clients vital signs, weight, and height, PFT, holter monitors, electrocardiogram (EKG), x-ray developing, or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests. Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
Lab Assistant:
Set up medical laboratory controls of the lab equipment. Process and handle specimens for the In-house and Outside lab orders. Data entry of patients demographics and insurances into Lab DAQ system requisitions in accordance with proper insurance coverage. Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses including CBC's, urinalysis, ESR, BNP, throat and urine cultures, rapid strep, rapid flu, Hcg test, Guaiac cards. Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
Great patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answer phone calls, screen and direct calls, take messages and provide information. Complete computer system registration at time of arrival and ensure proper authorization. Retrieve automated referrals from insurance web sites. Prepare new patient's medical charts with correct information and paperwork. Check in patients, enter patient demographic, verify and update necessary insurance information in the medical record. Check out patients, review physicians notes and instructions with patients, schedule for follow-ups in accordance with instructions. Collect co-payments when required and give required paperwork, as needed to patients. Scan patient's charts using SRS program. Call patients regarding “no shows” reschedule. Sort and deliver mail, medical records and other correspondence. Respect patient's right to privacy and confidentiality.
Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations. Enter patient's demographics; verify patient's insurances, eligibility and referrals. Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls (12 lines), providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments. Receive payment and record receipts for services. File and maintain medical records.
