Professional Summary:

Despite not having worked with Gambling Specific clientele; I am a strong empathetic & passionate advocate for the most traumatized & despairing of our [Cascadia's] catchment population. The most important skill that I can offer the Gambling Program is the ease to which I not only engage clients, but as well, am able to advocate for that client population. This is due to the thirty plus years of working with a wide range of  clientele: young children, adolescents, victims of both sexual and physical abuse [male and female,] sexual offenders, substance abusers, and clients with a full spectrum of diagnoses. For decades, I have experienced many rich professional opportunities. Assisting a multitude of client needs has disposed a bountiful collection of both clinical interventions and an ability to educate & convince others that
because of  the therapeutic process there is Always Hope and Faith. This profound faith and confidence in the therapeutic process allows me to sell: Everyone Can Change. I believe that the goal of this outreach position will be to expand awareness and build new bridges between community based providers and Gambling Programs, The developed cyclical networking, in turn, would confidentially link gambling addicts to Multnomah County's Gambling Programs. As a direct result of this outreach position, Multnomah County's ability to provide services to some of the most tragic and destitute clientele, will exponentially increase.

Outreach Experience:

*2006-2007 Outreach to school district administrators, teachers, and pupil services, as well as parents, promoting a trauma based clinical after school program for middle school boys.

*1997-1999 Outreach to a small rural town community, the local police, fire department/ambulance and hospital ER staff, providing accurate information about domestic violence while ensuring support and protection for the newly opened shelter clients. *1995-1997 Outreach to local community groups, dispelling myths about domestic violence, when appropriate, requested monetary support, providing preventive education in elementary and high schools.

*1980-1986 Outreach in a high school, providing support and education to students and staff regarding both substance abuse and suicide prevention.
