 operations and adherence to facility's policies and procedures.

  • Collect payments and record data pertaining to funds and expenditures.
  • Provide assistance to staff members by inspecting rooms, setting tables or doing laundry.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Greet and register guests.
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services, and resolve occupants' complaints.
  • Train staff members.
  • Coordinate front-office activities of hotels or motels, and resolve problems.
  • Prepare required paperwork pertaining to departmental functions.
  • Assign duties to workers, and schedule shifts.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of a department or establishment.
  • Provide towels and sheets to clients in public baths, steam rooms, and restrooms.
  • Activate emergency action plans and administer first aid, as necessary.
  • Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
  • Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive.
  • Refer guest problems or complaints to supervisors.
  • Operate controls that regulate temperatures or room environments.
  • Maintain a lost-and-found collection.
  • Provide or arrange for services such as clothes pressing, cleaning, and repair.
  • Assign duties to other staff and give instructions regarding work methods and routines.
  • Report and document safety hazards, potentially hazardous conditions, and unsafe practices and procedures.
  • Answer telephones and doorbells.
