How to write an event coordinator resume
To write a well organized resume and convince a hiring manager that you have what it takes to be a successful event coordinator, add the following sections to your resume and tailor your text to the job description of the position you’re applying to:
Resume header
The resume header section is the first part of your resume and contains your contact details. This is important as hiring managers and recruiters may want to contact you with updates about your application.
In this section, you should include:

If you have an online portfolio from your previous events management, then you can include a link to it here. You can also provide a link to professional networking sites (e.g., LinkedIn) to give the hiring manager or recruiter more information about your experience.
Resume summary or objective
A resume summary section is an overview of your overall resume. This two to three-sentence section features your top experiences and professional skills. This section is designed to hook the reader, so it’s important to include exciting and enticing information.
If you don’t have lots of experience in corporate or leisure events planning, then use a resume objective. A resume objective focuses on your skills and career intentions rather than your experience, and explains your goals instead of experience. Explain how the role aligns with your career goals and why this compensates for lack of experience.
Resume summary example:
Highly organized and detail-oriented event coordinator with five years of experience in planning and executing 20+ big and small corporate events annually. Specializing in coordinating out-of-the box events with 25 to 1,000 guests using expertise in project management, optimizing high and low budgets, and managing vendor coordination among a personal list of 100 vendors. Holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.
Resume objective example:
Results-driven junior event planner with one year of experience in assisting with organizing and executing seven events in 2023; Holiday parties, summer retreats and marketing seminars. Skilled in budget management, vendor collaboration and client relationship management. Bachelor of Arts in Marketing with a strong background in marketing coordination and market research.
Resume skills
Your own skills section should contain a good mixture of hard skills and soft skills. Hard skills are role-specific and gained through experience and training. Soft skills refer to transferable skills that can be used in multiple industries. Refer to the posting for the job you’re applying for inspiration on the correct skills to include.
