1. Passing medications.
2. Treatments to clients. I also went to school for 6 weeks to obtain knowledge about the new medicare approved medications and treatments that were used. I was titled a Wound Care Specialist. I held a staff leader position and worked only Monday through Friday. I did like this position, working closely with the doctors and both of us seeing the improvements made in the skin.
3. Working with the clients that had tube feedings. I was responsible for cleaning the site and keeping it infection free. 4. I was responsible for cleaning the colon out two times weekly for those who had a colostomy bag. Also responsible for keeping the site clean and infection free.

I am currently in training and find it interesting. Although Activity Director in a nursing home is the perfect job for me at this time in my life. As I am an LPN and love the nursing home setting. I am retired and do not wish to return to the routine of nursing, I am wanting a job with responsibilities, as I have creative and leadership qualities. I don't seem to find the job of a DSP as challenging in the position they are placing me.

I found this a friendly place to work and usually did doubles. The activity director there was the one who gave me the inspiration to become an activity director after my retirement. My job duties, encompassed the full range of LPN qualities. I usually had the medicare wing. I found this challenging because of the clients getting better and moving on to their personal rooms again.
