Professional Summary
I am on retirement at the present and I am taking the work trial period.  After that I will be able to make as much money as I want to and do not have to watch my hours.  I have timed this just right so I could hold a full time job.  I would be an asset to your Home and to your staff and most of all to your clients.  I fall in love with the elderly and always have.  I guess I have an old soul, as they say.  I enjoy making them happy because some of them only have us as family.  I am not opposed to working weekends, as I have most of my life anyway.  I graduated in 1990 from LPN school and held a few jobs as LPN but not for very long.  I had a stressful home life and had to make it safe for my children and me.  I had to move around quite a bit.  This is all behind me now and I am thankful for that.  I quit working in 2004 due to a couple of things, but mostly because of my mother.  She became a double amputee that year and needed help in order to stay at home. She did not want to go to a nursing home and I was financially secure to do this for her.  So I stayed home with her until her death.  I then met a wonderful Perry County man and we got married.  He also left me well off.  So this job is just because I want one and have desired to do this for many years.  I am intelligent, creative, active (I work out at the gym 4 times a week), healthy, and very blessed with many friends.  I would be grateful if you considered me for your position.  Thank you for taking the time to read my resume.

1.  Passing medications.
2.  Treatments to clients.  I also went to school for 6 weeks to obtain knowledge about the new medicare approved medications and treatments that were used.  I was titled a Wound Care Specialist.  I held a staff leader position and worked only Monday through Friday.  I did like this position, working closely with the doctors and both of us seeing the improvements made in the skin.

3.  Working with the clients that had tube feedings.  I was responsible for cleaning the site and keeping it infection free. 4.  I was responsible for cleaning the colon out two times weekly for those who had a colostomy bag.  Also responsible for keeping the site clean and infection free.

DSP Mar 2015 - Present
Fivestar DuQuion, Il
I am currently in training and find it interesting.  Although Activity Director in a nursing home is the perfect job for me at this time in my life.  As I am an LPN and love the nursing home setting.  I am retired and do not wish to return to the routine of nursing,  I am wanting a job with responsibilities, as I have creative and leadership qualities.  I don't seem to find the job of a DSP as challenging in the position they are placing me.
Staff nurse as an LPN Jan 1997 - May 2004
Cahokia Health Care Cahokia, Il
I found this a friendly place to work and usually did doubles.  The activity director there was the one who gave me the inspiration to become an activity director after my retirement. My job duties, encompassed the full range of LPN qualities.  I usually had the medicare wing.  I found this challenging because of the clients getting better and moving on to their personal rooms again.
