  • ABE/WLA is a high poverty, at-risk school that was an AUS school. Instructional leader of the school. Developed and supervised Pre-K - 5th grade school offering an immersion program in Spanish and French languages, and for the 2009 school year developed a program to offer Mandarin Chinese kindergarten class as well. Responsible for supervision of regular, special education and immersion teachers and students. As instructional leader, I lead discussions and implemented job-embedded professional development in a variety of strategies and pedagogy to enhance student achievement. Increased technology access and exposure from the purchase of new computers, smart boards, promethean boards, and video conferencing capabilities to enhance student learning and collaboration with children from other cities, states, and countries throughout the world. Reggio Emelia Approach to teaching and learning was developed, created and piloted through the 100 languages of children methodology introduced to kindergarten classes. Data-driven Decision Making, the 90-Day Plan, and the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) were utilized and implemented using strategies obtained through the Louisiana School Turnaround Program (LSTS) and the University of Virginia, Darden Business School (UVA).
