Serves as the Chief Nurse Officer for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (3BCT), 25 Infantry Division, the Level II ER/Patient Hold Section (Deployed), Pharmacy OIC(Deployed), and Chief Nurse/Nurse Manager of the 3BCT Soldier Centered Medical Home (SCMH). Responsible for the soldier medical readiness of the Brigade. Admit, discharge, and provide inpatient care to medical/surgical patients while in Patient Hold. Perform triage/assessment and emergency trauma management of urgent casualties. Provides Company and Battalion level Commanders with medical knowledge to assist with the interpretation of various medical conditions, documents, medications, treatment modalities, and explaining the capabilities/limitations of the unit. Manages the Nursing and Combat Medic staff of the 3BCT SCMH. Develops and ensures adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures of the SCMH and Joint Commission. Responsible for the tracking of all 3BCT medical profiles and reporting to the Soldier Medical Readiness Counsel. Responsible for Combat Medic training and maintaining of EMT-B National Standards.
