Crew Leader
May 1995-Present
Amc Entertainment Inc. -
Northbrook,
IL
Since starting here at Nucor-Yamato, I have worked in the Shipping Department in the roles of loading rail cars, operating Ottowa trucks, Taylor lifts, overhead cranes, straddle crane operator, assistant crew leader and crew leader. I have also assisted in the role of NYS II Shipping Supervisor during the absence of the present supervisor.
At present, my job title is Crew Leader, but for the past 2.5 years I have assumed the role of Safety/Training Coordinator. This position started in just the Shipping Department revamping our training manuals, updating training, and helping to implement an electronic system to store our manuals and training records. This system has turned into a complete eLearning system for our operators which allows flexibility for training in many situations.
At present, I have branched out and have worked with every department within our mill to help create electronic versions of training material and implement electronic training for equipment operators throughout the mill.
During my time as Safety/Training Coordinator I have worked on various other projects at the request of department managers or our general manager. I am heavily involved in our Safety programs, I schedule monthly Safety Meetings, have worked with other mills to Best Mark Safety Practices, along with other smaller projects to benefit Safety in our mill.
