Conducted primary research of 600 south Huntsville residents to support fundraising efforts for the new south Huntsville library. Created a marketing plan from research findings to organize segments of south Huntsville to increase pledge donations. In May 2015 the Huntsville Madison County Public Library reached the $1M in funding sought.
Griffith For Governor
Fundraiser researching potential donors and entering information into NGP VAN donation database. Responsible for monthly and weekly financial reporting to Alabama Secretary of State.Wrote narratives for digital content based on research findings supporting campaign platforms. Led campaign interactions with the media overseeing state and regional public relations efforts. Coached candidate for public speaking engagements and media appearances. Planned & executed campaign events maximizing presence at local and statewide events. Directed new media including campaign Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube initiatives.
Taylor Stewart for State Senate
Led field work managing team of 20 paid canvassers and phone bankers. Responsible for maintaining large campaign database of voters and territories. Ensured database was current and accurate. Researched database to set parameters for next phase of canvass activities. Authored persuasion messages used in phone and canvassing activities.
Davis Clinic / AAC –
Directed marketing and fundraising efforts for non-profit service organization with $2.3M annual operating budget. Authored grants receiving first-time CDC funding of $2M and $800K National AIDS Fund grant during tenure. Researched and analyzed Davis Clinic data to prvide metrics in grant applications. Crafted and implement strategic initiatives to grow corporate donor segments resulting in 50% increase in funding. Managed $30K event budget and 100 volunteer base raising $100K with popular ‘Dining With Friends' gala. Created and implemented first-ever social media plan leveraging Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, iTunes and other channels. Developed and maintained two internet sites: www.aidsactioncoalition.org and www.diningwithfriends.org. Directed all public relations including coverage in PBS Frontline documentary and the New York Times (05/23/2011).
Homeland Security Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center –
Oversaw marketing and communications efforts for Illinois grant-funded initiative to grow Homeland Security businesses and facilitate the transfer of transportation technologies by Department of Transportation (DOT). Created case files and counseled clients on marketing and communications strategies and recommended best practices. Reviewed state and federal grant applications providing constructive criticism to grant applicants seeking funds. Managed London Business School's entrepreneurship competition in Chicago awarding $500K in funding.
Aetos Technologies –
Member of private placement team raising $50K of investment during critical first round financing; $2M overall. Developed database system for raise team to coordinate outcomes of meetings, pledges, and incoming funds. Reported metrics from database in weekly team meetings. Liaised with senior leadership to author, design and edited a variety of communications materials including: product manuals, annual reports, brochures, marketing materials, white papers, newsletters, press releases, journal articles, and promotional mailers.
