I've been searching for a career tailor made for my upbeat personality, and communication skills. I believe this business could be the beginning of said career.
At Caseys General Store I was the chef working in the back making all the fresh food served there. I worked long hours and had to answer many calls from customers ordering food. I also had to keep up with he level of cleanliness necessary to pass inspections and my employers wishes. I had this job to get extra money to help pay for my college in the august. I had many skills polished by this job including, diligence, customer service, and neatness. I ended up leaving due to my fall semester at Missouri State University.
At Walsworth Publishing Inc. I didn't exactly experience a typical job at a publishing company. I worked for Volkswagen through Walsworth due to a partnership because of the false emissions test scandal. Customers were to get refunds because of the false emission test results, and I, along with 10 others, had the task of verifying the customers documents. Once verified we would send the documents on to the next phase of the process. I eventually had to step up and start calling banks for customers to help get their refunds. This wasn't technically a promotion, but few trusted individuals were selected for this task. Overall this job really taught me some key skills including; customer service, diligence, responsibility, and professionalism. I ended up putting my two weeks in due to the nearing of track season.
I worked throughout high school at Yummies where I would deal with and serve customers daily. I learned valuable lessons while working here including ; customer service, accountability, and teamwork. The shop ended up closing down due to little profit being made.
I lived in a small town in Missouri called Marceline. I went to Marceline High school were I played three sports, was in four clubs, and took many honors classes. The sports included football, track, and basketball. I was football captain my senior year so I learned young how to be a leader. I was also all district in two sports due to my work ethic and great coaching.
The clubs I was apart of consisted of FBLA, FCCLA, FLC, and FCA. I went to state in FBLA for placing in the top three on the insurance test in my region. I went to state in FCCLA due to a presentation my partner and I completed regarding a topic of our choice.
The honors courses I completed consisted of Chemistry II, Physics, Math Analysis, Anatomy, and Psychology/Sociology. As a result of these honor's classes I scored a 24 on my ACT. I obtained a few scholarships after completing high school including red cross scholarship, masonic lodge scholarship, Fraternal Order of the Eagles scholarship, and Ingram Foundation scholarship.
