Independant Cpr Instructor For Aha - Career Resume Example

Samuel Lewis
XXX X XXXXXXXX XX, Murphysboro, IL 62966
Professional Summary

I am a nurse by heart, always have been. I have 4 beautiful boys. I am married to my best friend.
I started as a CNA in 1995 then an LPN in 98.  I am a seasoned charter and Nurse, my assessments are head to toes with full coverage for care plan and reimbursement rates to be maximized. I have a great bed side manner and my style of nursing is case management, taking all parts of the patient care into consideration, to find ways to maximize health.

I was recently one of the staff let go with other cuts in June from a private boarding school in Carbondale that I truly loved. I worked with Asperger's, Autism, and Behavior modification students there. I did a lot of case management. I worked there as needed contractual from 2008-2010 when I was offered full-time in 2010-6/2014.
I taught all staff education, that included CPR/BBP/Seizure Precautions and Medication Administration Training to lay dorm staff, along with the other Nurses. As well as teaching all staff policy and procedures for the health care of our students yearly. I taught a class under the scheduled Academic Teacher in First Aid to the students that I developed. I also had the opportunity to develop and teach a 'What to do when' class that lasted an entire semester to the students graduating into OPTIONS programs.
I planned on retiring from there so this career change was unexpected but I'm jumping back into the world with both feet, to see what it has in store.
My Resume covers a lot of what I have done, please don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have.

Thank you so much for your consideration!

  • Communication is the key for me,  I am an active listener and in any situation this is a tool that can benefit in so many ways.
  • I am a critical but fast thinker. I base my opinion on knowledge and symptoms. I want to know why, what caused it...and how can we fix it.
  • My own nursing judgment and the ability to have provider and my supervisors trust the assessments that I provide to them.
  • Charting, I am accustomed to using a narrative head to toe unless otherwise directed. My nursing history involves a lot of Medicaid/Medicare and extensive care patients which is where I learned to chart heavy and have just kept that style.
  • Eager to help when it is needed, and I love to sideline teach others and be taught, when it comes to learning a new process or the reason why things are done that way. I haven't seen a day yet that there isn't something to learn about care and the nursing field itself.
