The responsibilities of the car wash include quick and efficient teamwork. The job specializes in working in the sun and having a clear endurance for lasting the entire shift. Benefits from this quick paced environment is the ability to overcome hunger and energy while under the "work pressure" situation. Not only is speed a major factor required, performance on each vehicle is a must. Each and every car was carefully examined to be made sure free of any missing vacuum areas or smudges on the exterior. If any customer was dissatisfied with a specific area, the work was to be redone without hesitation. The biggest factor among the benefits to the car wash was team evaluation. Among every station at least two people would ensure the car was correctly inspected, each catching missing spots on the other's sides.
As a sales associate, responsibilities included demonstrating a product properly in a manner to where the customer would receive the interest of the item, covering warranties and including attachments to the sales. Factors for this job included knowing specific details about all the products, their price offers and bundles/sets and return policies/store warranties. Not only was product knowledge an necessity, customer politeness was a key to being successful on the job. The experiences that were improved as a sales associate were speech patters and physical hand gestures that helped communicate with people in a professional manner. Learning to see what there is in common with customers is what really helped in building a connection to deciding what choice fits their interests on a product.
As a security/event helper, necessities for the job were the abilities to speak with people, follow the rules given on how events will run and keeping a professional stance during the shifts. Before every event held, a list of rules would be given on what people can or can't do and areas they weren't allowed to enter. Different positions held would include monitoring either the gates or seats. Gates would be in charge of checking for bags, weapons and outside drinks. Checking ID's was also a task for any person willing to drink alcohol that night. Seat monitoring would be making sure people would not throw objects or cause a personal disruptions to other people. A great factor of this job is the ability to confidently keep an argument towards the people who would not follow the rules and begin a complaint. Along with the confidence, the team connection between supervisors and security workers are what kept events running smoothly.
The primary factor of fast food crew work was the fast paced environment. Knowing how to properly run each machine and developing the muscle memory helped to preform the tasks at a better pace. Aside the fast work, two additional benefits from this position were customer politeness and the ability to multi task. Each customer was to be treated with respect and any dissatisfaction would be taken care of politely. Multi tasking included keeping several machines on control with food heat timing and listening to other workers and anything else needed. The main training benefited from this job was the multi task ability to take an order from one customer as taking care of the payment for the prior customer on the drive thru.
High School Diploma: Engineering
Over the course of High School, I took classes that helped achieve a better understanding of my future career. The classes included graphing engineering, architect technology and computer science. Aside career classes I was in band/music all four years and participated on a full band session my senior year where a solo covered two pieces. By the end of graduating high school I was ranked 32/562 which lead to the top ten percent.
Associates Degree: Engineering
San Jacinto Central Campus
I am currently attending San Jacinto Central to earn an Associates Degree to where I plan on transferring to University of Houston Main Campus to earn my Bachelors Degree. I plan to become either a Civil or Mechanical engineer in the future. Not only am I taking basic courses but also the degree classes needed for my Bachelors at San Jacinto. From the help of AP courses in high school I was able to advance a year allowing me to proceed to my degree quicker.
