Can do attitude with operational skills in any or all aspects of Automotive retailing, including Sales, Service and Management of volume and smaller market stores. Having grown up in the Auto Industry I have been in and around repair shops my whole career. Other aspects include inventory management of both vehicles and parts departments. Business processes and how things interact are areas I am very good at doing.  Machinery and the way things work have always been apart of everything I have done both in business and away from work. My free time has always been working on something whether it be tractors or cars, boats or what ever needed attention. Packer/ Final Assembly May 2016Current Sporlan Valve Washington, MO Not afraid of hard work I went to work at Sporlan, as it offered at the time a steady income after having been on commission only income in the Auto Industry.  I started at Sporlan thru Manpower on I-line Department 426 as a packer. I was also leak tank certified and packed in every cell in that department. In September 2016 I was transferred to Area 413 Distributors also packing. Since them I have started hand brazing and helping with most things in H Brazier. I have also worked in R and N/Q Braziers.  I am being cross trained in other areas including T-Drill making tubing, Peening, Stamping and electronic motor building. I have also began training on Drilling and set up on the drilling tables. My flexibility is an asset as quite often I work on the I line and Dept. 413 in one shift. Able to do multiple things has always been my strength.

Started the middle of September of 2015. I was hired as Automobile Salesperson. Sales started out fine for the fall selling season but traffic went down considerably during the last part of November and did not see an up turn until March of 2016. February was tough as usual in the Auto business. End of March thru most of April, traffic was extremely slow. After hitting what is supposed to be the spring selling season and seeing no increase in traffic, I decided to part ways.

Internet Sales and Vehicle Sales Nov 2014Aug 2015 Straatmann Toyota Washington, MO Started working for Straatmann Toyota in November of 2014. They were building a new building and I approached them for a job in Management. Their proposal was for me to do Internet Sales until we moved into the new building. After moving into new building then other opportunities would open up. I accepted position an Sales person rate of pay,With no traffic and one salesperson who was guaranteed first and every customer on lot I did not get an customer to wait on until January.  Since then and even going through a physical move to another building I averaged 14 sales per month. Hoping things would change after moving into new building, they didn't. No new opportunities in Management would open up. We did get more traffic but not very much more and they hired additional sales people with further diluted traffic. With no attempt to modify pay plan and pressure to only live on Toyota leads we parted company.

Stayed connected to Automobile industry while being stay at home parent. Raised two great young men who are now off to College. Our decision for me to make our emphasis our children was not hard. My wife has a good job which covered health insurance and this allowed me to volunteer (baseball, Boy Scouts, Rotary) and participate in their upbringing. By not having to use afterschool watch programs and placing them in private schools we feel that we have succeeded in our goal of giving them a good start. These things and helping also with affairs of elderly in-laws .
