Alternative Breaks: Participant Aug 2014Present Florida International University Miami, FL Team member of an Alternative Breaks group composed of 11 students that aspire to travel to Minnesota for one week during the Spring break 2014 where it will partner up with Camp Heartland which focuses on providing children infected with different diseases such as HIV, with a safe and fun environment and most importantly non-judgmental so that they could freely interact with each other.
Currently working on different types of fund raisers such as bake sales, car washes, and canning in order to come up with the amount of money necessary to make this trip happening.

In this case, the group was composed of 10 members who partnered up with Habitat for Humanity and traveled to Savannah, Georgia to help build a house for a disadvantaged woman and her three children.
The trip was paid entirely by funds raised from the beginning of the school year by the group.
