I am a mature Special Education teacher/candidate with unique experiences to offer the Salamanca School District because I have been watching teachers for years. Teachers who are skilled at reaching students; teachers who are skilled at making enemies of students and parents. I have seen teachers who make education about the student and teachers who make education about themselves.
Self preservation is important but self centered teachers have little to offer students. I would use my teaching position, if given the opportunity, to put the needs of students/parents ahead of my own needs so that students can prosper/succeed in the education environment.
