Provide clerical assistance to 5 providers in a high volume Neurosurgery practice. Keeping everything current with the AMA. Do charting for all 5 providers as well as up loading and downloading dictation. I take all messages from patients and discuss them with the physician and explain treatment plans to the patient as well as explain surgery procedures. I assist 1 provider in an outside clinic, this includes, checking-in patients, checking-out patients, collecting co-pays, scheduling tests as well as outside referrals to other specialists, rooming patients, taking vitals, medication history and a brief overview of the visit to explain to the physician. Complete forms in accordance with hospital procedures.Maintain scheduling and event calendars.Make copies of correspondence or other printed material.Locate and attach appropriate files to incoming correspondence requiring replies.Operate electronic mail systems and coordinate the flow of information, internally or with other organizations.Coordinate conferences, meetings, or special events or travel reservations for office personnel.Open, read, route, and distribute incoming mail or other materials and answer routine letters.Supervise other clerical staff and provide training and orientation to new staff.Train and assist staff with computer usage.

Coordinates patient referrals and diagnostic studies for a busy Neurology practice. In charge of prior authorizations; tests and procedures and outpatient referrals to other specialists.
Retrieve patient medical records for Healthcare professionals and technicians, or other medical personnel.Resolve or clarify codes or diagnoses with conflicting, missing, or unclear information by consulting with providers. Post medical charges and billing in Allscripts. Operate office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, or phone systems and arrange for repairs when equipment malfunctions. Schedule and confirm appointments for clients, as well as check-out. Verifying insurance, updating patient demographics.
