Performed quality control management on 7 miles of Pioneer Mtn. scenic highway near Dillon, MT, 20 miles of Warm Lake Road near Cascade, ID and 10 miles of the Big Salmon River Road near Riggins, ID. Work consisted of daily inspections of earthwork, culvert installations, concrete bridges and retaining walls, MSE retaining walls, soil nails, aggregates, asphalt paving, guard rails and seeding. Inspections included aggregate, asphalt and concrete sampling and testing. Performed breakout strength tests on grouted soil nails. Requirements for Contractor Quality Control were for Federal Highway Administration projects.

Started working on a survey crew in Northern California in 1961. Worked my way up through several positions to Assistant Forest Engineer on the Los Padres National Forest. In 1977, transferred to the Idaho Panhandle National Forest as Zone Engineer at St. Maries Idaho. In 1990, transferred to Coeur d'Alene, ID to an Assistant Forest Engineer position. I was responsible for all design and construction projects on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests.
