These past few years have been very academically challenging as I took on a number of difficult courses, but the challenges have taught me that the benefits of hard work are plentiful and rewarding. My sophomore year GPA is 4.0
As an active participant in my Youth Forum, I've had an amazing time exploring my beliefs and finding a good balance between building my faith and staying true to my generally left-wing liberal values. I've also found great value in numerous volunteer opportunities through Youth Forum; including a 3-day trip to Portland where we served meals to the homeless and provided listening ears to people who don't usually get to be heard.
Taking Care of Children
I love working with children - I have learned so much from my experiences as a babysitter. It has taught me patience and given me organizational skills. It also lets me be caring and nurturing with kids which I love. I am CPR certified.

My first year of varsity crew I had the pleasure of coxing the best boat on the girls' team. The coxswain is the leader of the boat and I had to learn through this experience the significance of remaining calm under extreme pressure, motivating people with firmness and grace, and taking in constructive criticism.
